Task Cleaning Between Crystal Cleaning Visits

We understand that not everyone can afford to have a personal housecleaner around all the time. We also know that having professional cleaners come to your home once a week or twice a month still requires that you keep the place tidy. The secret to tidying up every room of your home quickly? Task cleaning! Perform task cleaning between Crystal Cleaning visits to keep your home fresh and looking new!

People make the biggest mistake by cleaning room by room. This practice is called “zone cleaning.” It’s extremely slow! Would you rather clean your entire home in four hours, or spend our hours in the same room?

Don’t get caught focusing on one area. This activity slows down the process and can leave you frustrated. Just wiping things down and moving on is quick and efficient, and doable for the busy person.

Most pros favor “task cleaning”: completing one chore—such as dusting— throughout the entire house before starting the next undertaking. This process is faster because you get into a mindset to keep moving.”

Follow these seven steps, and your entire house will sparkle in four hours if you’re a beginner—two and a half once you become a pro.

Step 1: Dust the House

Dust each room first. Include the topsides of all the furniture, undersides of shelves, and all handrails, as well as picture frames, TV screens, and knickknacks. Dry-dusting is the fastest method. Getting something wet makes it more challenging to clean within four hours. If you need to get rid of fingerprints, dampen a microfiber cloth with warm water and wipe. Also, be sure to dust the very top of furniture because that’s where all the dust collects.

Step 2: Clean Furniture Fabric

Go through the house and strip and remake beds; neaten any pillows or furniture blankets. Brush furniture surfaces with a vacuum extension as needed.

Step 3: Clean Mirrors and Glass

Wipe down mirrors and windows throughout the house. To make this process go faster, use one wet, and one dry microfiber cloth won’t leave streaks.

Step 4: Clean Surfaces

Wipe down all surfaces and counters throughout the house, disinfecting as necessary.

Be sure to wipe down all places that fingers touch, like door handles, light switches, TV remotes, and phones. These places and items carry the most germs.

Step 5: Clean the Kitchen and Bathroom

Walkthrough and spray cleaner on tubs, sinks, and toilets: return and scrub. In the kitchen, wipe down the inside of the microwave and cabinets and appliance doors.

Step 6: Clean Floors

Sweep, then mop or scrub the bathroom and kitchen floors and any other floor that might need it.

Cleaning bathroom floors on hands and knees with a microfiber cloth and cleanser assures that you get every corner and even behind toilets. Your bathroom will be 100% disinfected, so keep this strategy in mind.

Step 7: Vacuum the House

Vacuum the bedrooms, stairs, living room, and kitchen. It doesn’t have to be the most stellar job, but one that gets the job done! You’ll get anything you may have missed the following week.
