We have a lot of clients, but we always want to put each customer first. While we know it is impossible to be there every day with our clients physically, we want to help our customers learn some quick cleaning tips until their next cleaning by us. Therefore, we provide some tips on how to clean your house in two hours or less.
Start with the Pre-Cleaning Routine (20 minutes)
It is essential to keep the house free of clutter, which helps speed up the cleaning process. If you get into the habit of keeping everything in its place, it will be much easier and faster to clean your home.
The first thing to do is to have all the cleaning products you need in a convenient location. You can keep them underneath the kitchen sink in a caddy because it is easy to handle and big enough to keep all your cleaning supplies.
Next, pick a laundry basket or any container with handles and move from room to room, sorting items and picking up what is not in its proper place.
If you find dirty clothes, gather them up in the laundry basket. Put other things like magazines, shoes, etc., where they belong.
Get Kids into Routines
If you have small children, most likely, there will be toys everywhere. Have containers for toys in the living room area and their bedroom. Teach them to pick up the toys after they finish playing with them. They learn how to stay organized when they are young.
If you have dirty dishes in the sink, let them soak in soapy water for now.
Or, instead of leaving dishes in the kitchen sink, put them straight into the dishwasher with soap in the container.
Before you start cleaning, make sure that the windows are halfway open, especially in the bedrooms (weather permitting). It is a good idea to strip off the duvets and pillows to air the beds.
Bleach in the Bathrooms
Then, move to the bathroom and pour a bleach solution into the sink and toilet. Leave it there to work while you do other tasks. Bleach works well to sanitize and clean tough stains. Never mix bleach with ammonia or any other household cleaner. If you clean with bleach, please be careful if you have small kids. Store it in a place where is not easily accessible.
If you are pregnant, consult your doctor to whether it is safe to use bleach or not.
Bleach Alternatives
If bleach is a no-no for you, consider natural alternatives. Hydrogen peroxide, white vinegar, baking soda, lemons, apple cider vinegar, Castille soap, cornstarch, salt, and essential oils are non-toxic ingredients you could use to clean your home. Wear something old when you are cleaning with bleach. It always ends up, somehow, in your clothes.
Dishes and Laundry (10 minutes)
Since the dishes have been soaking for some time now, you don’t have to spend a lot of time scrubbing the dirt off. After washing and arranging them on the rack to dry, clean the microwave next. Use natural ingredients to clean the inside of the microwave.
Now concentrate on the laundry basket and the washing machine. Put the clothes inside the washing machine and press the start button. While the washing machine is doing its job, move on to your next task.
Kitchen and Disinfecting Surfaces (10 minutes)
Now it’s time to concentrate on the kitchen. Clean all the surfaces with a disinfectant spray. You can use your favorite disinfectant for countertops and other surfaces. However, if you don’t have any at hand, apple cider vinegar can work, too.
Dampen a clean cloth in a mixture of one cup of warm water and half a cup of vinegar and wipe all surfaces you regularly contact.
It is important to wipe your surfaces with a disinfectant to get rid of germs and harmful bacteria. If you are in a hurry, wipe the surfaces with antibacterial wipes. Next, you need to wash the dishes. While they are drying, you can move onto your next task: dusting.
